Brian Baker
My name is Brian Baker and I live in Manchester, England though I was born almost 70 years ago in Liverpool, 30-odd miles down the road.
Since I was 17, I've worked in journalism on a whole range of newspapers, from local weeklies to a national daily. Until I was dragged kicking and screaming into retirement four years ago, I worked as a news sub-editor on the Liverpool Daily Post, my home town morning paper for 18 years. Before then I worked for the Daily Telegraph and edited a couple of local papers. I've also been lucky enough to have a couple of books published.
My interests include all aspects of the paranormal, history, particularly military history, sport, notably football (of the round ball variety) and cricket. I am also a voracious reader. If there's nothing else available, I'll read the back of a cornflakes packet.
I'm one of those incredibly lucky people who loved their job and I'm still at my happiest when I'm writing. I bless the day I chanced upon Suite101!
